He’s the CEO of Golden Tech International. And today, I’m excited to speak to him because we’re gonna talk about a lot of things, all things related to marketing, growth and, you know, even, again, an understanding of, what he focuses on day to day. But without spoiling anything, Saurav, welcome to the show.
SAURAV DHAKAL: Thank you so much. I am very much excited, for you bringing me here for this podcast and, yeah. Yeah, let’s proceed with it, yeah.
RICK: All right. let’s, let’s dive in. Saurav, maybe we start with the basics, right? Let’s, let’s talk about, Golden Tech International. what do you guys care about?
And essentially, one of the questions m- I typically ask is, if you were to explain to a friend over coffee what you do, right? In the most simple way, what would you say?
SAURAV DHAKAL: Okay. So in a much simpler way, if I am with a friend, then I would say that Golden Tech International, so it’s, mostly, differentiated from other company from its business outcome.
So like we are providing business outcome over the technical outcomes and, yeah, we make the AI solutions, for the companies, and we are mostly in the fintech and real estate sector. So we are doing most of the things from the business point of view, not just the technical outcomes.
Yeah. So-
RICK: Gotcha …
SAURAV DHAKAL: that is the quick intro I would give to my friend, and, then we can discuss forward. Yeah.
RICK: Yeah. So I’m interesting, you you mentioned, the fintech and the real estate sector. Now, what’s the key problem that you help them solve, and what kind of experience can these, can these companies, can these people expect when they work with you, when they interact with, Golden Tech?
SAURAV DHAKAL: Okay. So from the Golden Tech International, I found a few major problems in these sectors. So one of them being like, the loan processing takes a lot of time. So it takes more than fifteen or twenty days for just a loan to be processed, and it can also take one or two months, so depending upon the countries that, we are doing.
So we are basically operating in seven countries now, and like we are, providing the services. And in every country, in every state, I see a problem that the lending services, the fintech services, they are taking a lot of time to be processed. So even a loan in a bank or even a simple like fintech application, processing, so credit processing would take a lot of time.
Credit scoring would also take a lot of time. we are automating that. So that is one of the key problems that we are solving. So and in the…
Sorry for… Sorry for that. Let’s,
RICK: No worries.
SAURAV DHAKAL: okay. Sorry for that. Let me…
RICK: Yeah. You know what I can do? I can pause, right? I’ll pause the recording, so we have a timestamp for editing. And then when I resume, if you wanna recompose and, get your notes, together, that’s absolutely… There you go
SAURAV DHAKAL: Okay. So basically we are, providing services to the real estate and, the fintech sector. And the major problem that I see with most of the fintech clients and, the real estate clients that I work with is the time that is consumed with processing the loan or the processing of credit information and the filing and all.
So it’s taking a lot of time. For some, people, like it’s taking, fifteen days, like for some it’s taking one or two months also. So that is a very huge problem, and, that can be solved with the help of technology. So we, bringing the expertise of that. We have, done a couple of work. one of the major, digital loan management platform of US, crequity.ai, has also been made by us.
So yeah, we are doing a lot of things around it. So we are automating the loan processing credit and the fintech system overall. Yeah.
RICK: Oh, that’s impressive. Now, let’s pretend I’m someone in one of these companies that need, Maybe I don’t know I need automation necessarily, but I know I have a problem, right?
And I go online, right? And I’m looking for someone to help me. And the, the reason I’m asking is: How do I get to find out about Goldentech International and, in a way, in other words, how do most people discover you and, what are the channels that are bringing new customers for you at the moment?
SAURAV DHAKAL: Okay. At the moment, I have to say that interestingly, the events has been, brought, lot of attention into Goldin Tech International. So people have been joining the in- events that we are conducting. I also have been going to a lot of events. So I think that buil- builds our trust because in events like we can, talk about our services.
They can also expand– explain their services, and we can do the exchange of it. So I think, event is a great thing that, has brought– connected Goldin with the customers. The next thing would be like, yeah, particularly LinkedIn is a great, platform, and I’ve been active on LinkedIn. So I am the most active on LinkedIn, than any other communication channels and, from the website as well.
So from the website, we are getting a lot of traction, and we have a good mechanism to deal with, the website clients. So yeah, that is also interesting mechanism to discuss about. Yeah.
RICK: I love that because it, it’s a mix of, channels, right? So LinkedIn, of course, is, super important. Events, I like it, the shaking hands, the networking, you know, seeing people eye to eye.
and the website, of course, the website is crucial, and I do have a follow-up on that. But b-before we, dive into that, Saurav, are there any events that you’re excited about? Anything that, you would recommend, people even just participated to and, that would be relevant, let’s say, for the digital marketing world for our listeners that are listening?
SAURAV DHAKAL: yeah, definitely. So I’m, more excited into the, conversation that, I’m having with Lucas. So he’s a VC of Deloitte Ventures. So that is the event that we are conducting on August twenty-five. That is virtual. And, yeah, that– I’m very much excited about it. I will also like to invite all of your audience to join that.
maybe I can or you can share the link for them. And I’m very excited for that because he have been investing two million to ten million dollars in a lot of startups. So yeah, he’s a great, person working on Deloitte. So I’m very excited for that conversation. Yeah.
RICK: Nice. I’m sure there’s, a lot of insights coming out of, you, running this event and, someone from, VC from Deloitte like Lucas just being able to teach in a way, right?
And then share insights about that, that world. That’s awesome. piggyback off the, the website. You mentioned the website, of course. It’s, it’s an very important channel for every business. how much of a role does it play for you guys at the moment in a sense that is there anything that you think, should be improved about it?
is there anything that you think works really well? Tell us a little bit about your website and the way you’re building it and the way it’s working for you when it comes to bringing in more business.
SAURAV DHAKAL: Okay. Many people think that, the website is just the informative section, and people can, see the brand, and people can, look into the products and lot of things, right?
But, it’s not that. So it’s, sales mechanism behind it. So what we can, what we do is like we also track the customer that came into the website, so there are a lot of tools to do that. And what we do is like we gather the session recording, like what people are clicking and where they are moving, navigating throughout the pages and what, We are putting that into the AI, so we are making an intelligent system so that we can figure out what people are watching, so where this section they are interested into. Mostly they are interested into the case studies. And I also recommend it to a lot of people, and I am been doing that with, my clients as well.
So there are a lot of e-commerce clients that, we are dealing with. And what I do is I have installed that system. So it’s a system, for the clients which directly tracks on the website and it also passes the section recording and, to the AI, and they can figure out what works and what does not work in that website, and they can improve that way.
So that is the recommendation that I want to give to a lot of audience that, yeah.
RICK: Thank you so much. do you have any preferred tools that you use when it comes to websites? I know personally I like to geek out on a tech stack, right? I do have my favorite tools. Is there anything, if it’s not tools, maybe it’s a tactic or a framework that you’ve seen works really well when it comes to conversions, right?
So to improving conversions on a website, what do you rely on for making sure that people click on that button or, make sure that they get in touch with you?
SAURAV DHAKAL: Okay. talking about tools, like we used few of them. So we have been using like Microsoft Clarity, and that has been doing well.
I think, for the audience that has been connected through this pos- podcast, I think you are a great person and Pathmonk is a great platform. So I think, to convert the website visitors to the audience and, to generate the revenue, I think Pathmonk is the best way to do that. So like we have been doing it for ages, like we are not, generally specialized in that converting the website, conversions.
You are the master of that. But like what we do is like we connect with, some of the tools like Microsoft Clarity. They can also do the Hotjar, and that is provided to the AI, and AI does the thing from there. So like we get lot of insights and we get lot of conversion by intelligently thinking about how visitors visit our website here.
RICK: Awesome. thank you for the plug, of course. it’s, much appreciated, and thank you for the love, for Pathmonk. And, on that note, I wanted to switch gears for a second here, Saurav, and maybe talk about your love for what you do, right? What’s a, day in the life like, of Saurav, and, what do you focus on a daily basis?
And just give us a glimpse into your day, right? What is it like running Golden Tech International, and, what do you deal with every day as a CEO of it?
SAURAV DHAKAL: Okay. Interestingly, like what we do at, the organization, so Golden Tech International, it’s, like we have a lot of people. We have, more than 87 team members and, we have to operate around that.
We are in like seven different countries, and there are a lot of clients that we have to deal with. So my days, it, always starts, the office hour, it starts with the meeting. So the first meeting that I do is with the team, and I, tell them to bring something creative, not just the tasks that they are doing and they have to do, but if there is something creative in the strategy.
So from the marketing team, there can be something interesting in the marketing. From the like strategy team, there can be something interesting in the strategy, right? That can work for, getting the clients, like getting, forward with the expansion of the business. So I get in some time like, 30 minutes, 20 to 30 minutes with the team, and I try to be as much productive as I can.
And most, of my time it’s, with, meetings. And what I do is like I also read books between it. So like I take breaks, and I, sometimes read books, and I sometimes take a short nap of 15 minutes, then I get back to work. So that is the thing that I do. And, what I do particularly is two, three hours a day, like I separate for the AI.
So like I study about, I research about the AI and what’s happening in the world. So I also have to be updated. I cannot say that like I’m operating a tech company, and I can say that I, will not be updated on that. It’s my responsibility for clients to explain how AI is going, in the…
Like for example, if I go down to buy a house, then there are real estate brokers and agents, right? They can tell me about that. I should not know about the house particularly. They have to inform me about that. So I’m a tech leader, so I have to be informed about the technologies that I can provide the service on.
that is the day, today life of me as a CEO here.
RICK: That’s a, full day. That, I can tell you that much. but I do like the emphasis or, the focus on also the self-care, right? That’s what caught my attention, in the sense that, you read a book here and there, or you take a nap.
Most people will think about a CEO or, someone in a leadership position to just be go, at all times, and that might be the case at times, but it’s also a sure way to burnout. And it sounds to me like you’re trying to balance things and with the learning, with, managing the meetings, that’s more healthy, right?
So I like that message to go out to our audience, and appreciate you, putting that out there. so that’s, great, and thank you for that. Um, now, uh, Saurav, uh, there’s a, there’s a segment in this podcast that’s a rapid fire segment, which is essentially a quick and, an engaging way to, to keep things interesting.
The only question I have for you is, are you ready for it?
SAURAV DHAKAL: Yeah, I’m ready for it. Yeah.
RICK: All right, let’s dive in. So when it comes to consuming content, you just touched on books, for example, right? do you prefer watching, listening, or reading?
SAURAV DHAKAL: Okay, I prefer reading the book, yeah.
RICK: Reading? Yeah. Gotcha. So what’s the latest book, you read, and, was there anything in it that stuck with you?
Was there a gem that you brought with yourself?
SAURAV DHAKAL: I think I read, I think I have the book that I read previously. I have read that, in the past, but I have always re- Yeah, this is the book that I read. And this has, some major glimpse that I have on my head. So we have to always segment the things that, is important and not important in life.
So like we cannot, just say that everything is important, I will… And I will do this, that, this, that. And we also have to figure out what not to do. So figuring out what not to do is, as important as figuring out what to do, yeah.
RICK: I like that. I like the insight. And just for context for people that are not watching this and are only listening, uh, Saurav showed, uh, uh, the, the book The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F-, by Mark Manson, if I’m not mistaken.
Or maybe I’m butchering the name, but-
SAURAV DHAKAL: It’s Mark Mans- Manson, yeah.
RICK: There you go. it’s, a super popular book, and for a reason, right? Yeah … it’s a different one than what we typically get, and I appreciate that. Thanks for, that.
SAURAV DHAKAL: Yeah.
RICK: Now, Saurav, um, if you had a magic wand in your life and you can fix one frustrating thing in your life, with marketing, with sales, with tech, with anything that you’re running in the business, what problem would you fix?
SAURAV DHAKAL: Okay. The problem that I think is many people find it hard to get into the market and crack the market. So bringing out a SaaS platform or B2C platform into the market. So there is very hard times. So one thing that I would like to ask for is like, finding such a interesting thing or like finding all the marketing insights and competitor insights, everything out of the market.
So what, whether the product will be successful or not, I want to access, that, so like before going to the market. Yeah.
RICK: Interesting. Okay. Some- some sort of like all-encompassing research tool that gives you all that you need to know. Yeah. Everything. All the knowledge. That’s great. okay. last, quick-fire, rapid-fire question.
if you could go back at the beginning of your journey, and give yourself a quick pep talk at the start of your career- what kind of advice would you give your younger self?
SAURAV DHAKAL: Okay. The advice that I would give if I, w- was I, yeah, talking to my young-younger self. So that is, focus on the customer.
So when, bringing out a journey for any salespeople or any founder, then focus on the customer and what they are facing. So don’t focus on the, technology. So I’m a person of tech company, but I would like to tell that don’t focus on technology, don’t focus on the- things. That is secondary.
That also, plays a vital role, but, focus on the customer and, what they are feeling. So you must know what they are eating, what they are drinking, where they are going, everything about your customer. and you have to know the pain point that they are facing, then only you can solve that. So focus on the customer.
You have to put that 90% of your time in your brain, then only you can build a great business. So I would like to, yeah, advise that.
RICK: that’s great advice. and then it shows, the focus on the person, on people, right? Not necessarily, as you said, not on technology. So I appreciate that wisdom, Saurav.
And, I wanna thank you as we wrap things up for being on the show with us today, Saurav, and I also wanna give you the last word. If someone forgets everything about the interview today, what is the one thing they should remember about the work you guys are doing?
SAURAV DHAKAL: Okay. Just remember that we just don’t focus on the technical outcome, we focus on the business outcome.
So if we can grow your revenue, we focus on three things, whether growing your revenue or, bring- bringing the efficiency in your team or, decreasing the operation cost. So we focus on three things. So if, you are thinking about increasing your business revenue, then you can consider Golden Tech International, yeah.
RICK: Okay. Awesome. a perfect segue for that would be, okay, where can we send people if they’re interested in that? Do you have a website, or a social media channel that we can point them to?
SAURAV DHAKAL: Yeah. You can head over to, yeah, www.goldentechnosoft.com. So that is the website. And you can just search some Golden, TechnoSoft on, social medias, and, you can head forward for that.
And we also have different sites for our key verticals, but you can navigate all of those from that too, yeah.
RICK: Amazing. thanks again, Saurav. And of course we’ll, put everything in the show notes so people can reach out directly. But in the meantime, as I said, I wanna thank you for the insights that you shared with us today and, and thank you for the conversation.
Now, I hope we can, do this again soon at some point, maybe in the new year.
SAURAV DHAKAL: Yeah. Okay. We can do that again. And thank you so much, Rick, for, y- for the podcast, like from, for bringing me as a guest on your podcast and, I could share some valuable insight to your audience. I think that way valuable and insightful, and they could take the action from it.
So thank you so much, Rick, for the podcast, yeah, for bringing me.
RICK: Appreciate it. All right. Thank you so much. Okay. Bye everyone.
