Let’s talk about today’s guest. We have Annabelle, marketing manager with ATX Group from Malaysia. How are you doing today, Annabelle?

Annabelle Lau: Hi, Ernesto. I’m doing well. Thanks for having me today.

Ernesto: It’s great to have you on. Well, Annabelle, I’m sure our listeners are tuning in, wondering what ATX Group Malaysia is all about. So, let’s kick it off with that. In your own words, can you tell us a little bit more?

Annabelle: Yeah, sure. ATX is a leading company specializing in telecommunications. We provide services by having an integrated platform. We enable retail partners to have all these services ready just by having Payhub integrated into their platform using API, so they can offer seamless transactions to all customers and end users.

Ernesto: Okay, I like that. So, for our listeners to get a better understanding of your company, what would you say is the key problem that you solve for clients?

Annabelle: We have a platform that enables services like bill payments, telco reloads, international reloads, and remittances. By integrating with us, you don’t have to connect with every brand or service provider one by one. You can open up a new revenue stream for your business quickly and efficiently.

Ernesto: Definitely important. So then, what would you say is your vertical segment? Is there an ideal customer profile for ATX Group?

Annabelle: Usually, our ideal partners are retail businesses with a database of end users. They could be involved in online transactions through platforms, e-commerce websites, or mobile apps. By working with us, they can offer more services to their consumers seamlessly and quickly, without having to change their own branding or user experience.

Ernesto: Definitely. So, say I was in the retail business. How would I usually find out about ATX Group? Is there a top client acquisition channel for you?

Annabelle: Yeah, we have a website, and we also have sales teams that go through connections. In the last couple of years, we’ve expanded into offline stores. We also use digital ads and leads to approach retail owners and offer these services.

Ernesto: Okay, I like that. So for those who want to check you out, they can always visit you at ATX.my. What role does the website play in client acquisition for you?

Annabelle: We have different segments. Payhub is more for B2B, allowing retail partners to offer services to their users through their own platform without changing their brand name. Another approach is MyPosPay, which is aimed at offline store owners and merchants. We even offer parcel services by partnering with local companies, providing more value to those offline stores.

Ernesto: Perfect. So on that note, Annabelle, is there any tool, tip, or method you’d recommend to our listeners for website lead generation?

Annabelle: We use both Meta Ads and Google Ads to acquire leads and build our brand. It’s crucial for businesses today to have a strong digital presence to expand quickly.

Ernesto: Definitely agree. Let’s switch gears a little bit, Annabelle, and talk about you as a leader. As a marketing manager for ATX Group, what are some key tasks you focus on in your day-to-day work?

Annabelle: I manage both B2B and B2C marketing. For B2B, I handle campaigns and collaborations with partners, including joint campaigns. On the B2C side, I work with a team to build our brand through social media and websites, ensuring we update content and campaigns regularly. My role is to streamline these projects and ensure we meet the company’s objectives.

Ernesto: All right, perfect. In your downtime, how do you stay up to date with marketing trends and strategies? Do you have a preferred channel?

Annabelle: Yes, we use social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. In my free time, I also use these platforms to follow trends and learn what’s popular. It helps us find creative ways to build our brand without spending a huge budget.

Ernesto: Awesome. Now let’s jump into our rapid-fire question round. Are you ready?

Annabelle: Yep, sure.

Ernesto: First up, what is the last book that you read?

Annabelle: “Tuesdays with Morrie” and also “The Psychology of Money.”

Ernesto: Great reads for sure! Next question: If there were no boundaries in technology, what’s one thing you would fix for your role as a marketer today?

Annabelle: I’d love to get instant insights into target audience behavior and preferences. Right now, we need studies and analysis, but it would be great to have real-time feedback to optimize campaigns quickly.

Ernesto: Definitely important. If there’s one repetitive task you could automate, what would it be?

Annabelle: I’d like to automate the process of getting campaign performance reports, so I get updates instantly on how projects are doing.

Ernesto: Makes sense. Last question: You already have plenty of experience, but what’s one piece of advice you’d give yourself if you were restarting your journey as a marketer today?

Annabelle: Don’t be afraid to start. When you’re new to marketing, it can feel daunting, but just take the plunge. Even if things don’t go perfectly, you gain experience from it.
