Welcome to today’s episode. Let’s talk about today’s guest. We have Elizabeth from Absolute Marketing, CEO with them for more than 16 years now. How are you doing today, Elizabeth?

Elizabeth Pampalone: I’m doing great.

Ernesto: It’s great to have you on today’s show. You know, I mean, you have a lot of experience, and we’re thankful that you’re here. And, well, let’s give what our listeners are tuning in for. Can you tell us a little bit more about what Absolute Marketing is all about?

Elizabeth: Yeah, so I actually went to college for web design, and when I got out of that, I realized that there was a lot more that you could do with the marketing side of things. So I still built websites, but I started doing social media and kind of all the things, right? The emails and everything. And then I kind of worked myself out around 2018 and I changed my entire company because I was doing it the same way everybody else was — like six-week websites and three-month membership builds. Then I changed everything to a model that basically allowed me to do ten times what I was doing in the same amount of time, for way more money for me and way less money for the customer. So I went to a day system where customers would come and sit with me for one day, get their entire website done, or twelve months of social media done, and they would pay one flat fee and it would get done in literally an eight-hour day. And that’s what we do now.

Ernesto: Oh, awesome. That’s great to hear. So, for our listeners to get a good understanding of your company, what would you say is a key problem that you solve for your clients?

Elizabeth: Usually, we work with smaller businesses or small teams, and they kind of get in the weeds with building a site or creating social content or even just coming up with an entire marketing strategy for the year, or kind of even a six-month strategy. We sit with them in a short period of time, a four-hour day or an eight-hour day, and we get everything literally done. If they come in for twelve months of social media, they walk out with over a thousand posts done in the scheduler and they don’t have to touch it for another six months to a year. We solve that problem, create the content, craft the strategy, and deliver a completely finished product. It’s a game-changer for those who might not have the time or discipline to do it themselves.

Ernesto: Definitely. That’s great to hear. So who would you say are your clients? Is there a vertical or ideal ICP for you, Elizabeth?

Elizabeth: We have worked with so many different small companies, but I really like working with small practices, chiropractors, therapists, things like that. We also do really well with people in the service industry, whether they’re personal trainers, nannies, private chefs, or similar roles. They might have a small team helping them promote or do the work, but the marketing strategy and implementation often fall to them or one other person. They can really get stuck. So, small teams in medical practices or service-based industries are ideal for us.

Ernesto: Perfect. Great to hear that. Being the expert here, how would somebody typically find out about Absolute Marketing? What would you say is a top client acquisition channel for you?

Elizabeth: We have a really big presence on YouTube, and we’ve been around for a long time, so we have a ton of word-of-mouth referrals. Back in the day, when we didn’t have that word-of-mouth, we relied on in-person networking and speaking. Right now, we probably get about 40% of our leads from conferences, speaking engagements, or podcast appearances, and the rest come through word-of-mouth. It’s been a huge driver for us.

Ernesto: Perfect. Awesome. To our listeners, you can always check them out at getabsolutemarketing.com. Elizabeth, what role does the website play for your client acquisition?

Elizabeth: I think for us — and what I tell my customers it should be for them — it should be a 24-hour salesperson. Your website should rank high and present whatever a salesperson would tell someone in person. It should guide visitors through their buyer journey and provide the right information without overwhelming them. It should lead to sales meetings or close the sale outright, depending on whether it’s service or product-based. The key is having just enough information, presented well, to guide customers to their next step.

Ernesto: Awesome. Great insight. Are there any tools or tips you would recommend for lead generation?

Elizabeth: I love to give away free content. Clients often think they don’t have anything valuable to offer for free, but they do. Package things you already use to sell your clients, like what you discuss in free consultations, into videos, PDFs, or quizzes. That’s great for conversions. Also, don’t rely on one channel. Have a robust presence on social media, Google, podcasts, and other places to build credibility. Your website should be consistent with that message. Speak directly to your target audience and guide them through their journey.

Ernesto: Definitely. That’s great advice. Let’s switch gears a bit and talk about you as a CEO. What are some key tasks you focus on in your day-to-day work?

Elizabeth: I love educating. I’ve been on over 200 podcasts and created tons of videos for our YouTube channel. I also speak at events. My goal is to empower people with tools and knowledge, whether they’re DIYers or those who need a little extra help. I want to give them everything they need to succeed.

Ernesto: Definitely some great work. Let’s jump into our rapid-fire round. Are you ready?

Elizabeth: Sounds great.

Ernesto: First off, what is the last book that you read?

Elizabeth: I’ve read and reread Profit First multiple times. Right now, I’m in the middle of 4,000 Weeks, and it’s really interesting.

Ernesto: Great read for our listeners. What is one single thing your company is focused on the most at the moment?

Elizabeth: We’re focused on taking our entire library of content and making it more accessible. We’re adding our podcasts and videos to YouTube for free and offering low-cost resources on our website.

Ernesto: How can listeners find you on YouTube?

Elizabeth: The channel is Absolute Marketing, and the podcast is there as well.

Ernesto: Awesome. If there were no boundaries in technology, what’s one thing you’d want fixed for your role as a marketer?

Elizabeth: If AI could hire for me, that would be amazing. I’m not great at hiring and firing, so AI doing that would be a game-changer.

Ernesto: Definitely! If there was one repetitive task you could automate, what would that be?

Elizabeth: Posting on social media. I automated that years ago, creating a formula to produce twelve months of posts in a day. It was life-changing for me and my clients.

Ernesto: Lastly, with your experience, what’s one piece of advice you’d give yourself if you were starting your marketing journey today?

Elizabeth: Find a specialty and use something like Profit First from the beginning. I wasted years and money by not focusing on cash flow properly. Be great at one thing and manage your finances wisely.

Ernesto: Great advice. Elizabeth, thank you for being on the podcast. If someone forgets everything from today, what’s the one thing they should remember about your company?

Elizabeth: We help people create one year of marketing content in less than five days. Marketing shouldn’t be overwhelming. Simplify everything, and it’ll be more effective.

Ernesto: You heard it from Elizabeth. Check them out at getabsolutemarketing.com. Elizabeth, thank you so much for being on today’s episode. To our listeners, thank you for tuning in, and we look forward to our next episode on Pathmonk Presents. Thanks a lot, Elizabeth.

Elizabeth: Thanks for having me.
