Let’s talk about today’s guest. We have Elvina from Movo, marketing assistant there with them. How are you doing today, Elvina?
Elvina Roberts: Hi, I’m doing good.
Ernesto: Great to have you on, and, well, let’s kick it off, Elvina. In your own words, tell us a little bit more about what Movo is all about.
Elvina: So at Movo, we are known to design and distribute products for content creators, including video gear and audio gear. But our main goal is to uplift different creators from various walks of life. This includes short-form creators, filmmakers, videographers, but also podcasters, journalists, music makers, streamers, and all kinds of creators out there. Aside from offering amazing products, we also create educational and engaging content for creators on our social media. We like to partner with influencers and content creators and foster a community with those in the creative space.
Ernesto: Definitely important. And so that way, our listeners can get a good understanding of your company. What would you say is the key problem that you guys like to solve for clients?
Elvina: The key problem is that we provide high-quality equipment. We emphasize how audio is a big deal in content creation, and we offer various types of microphones. I think this is one of the most important things we provide. But as I mentioned, we also create educational content, so up-and-coming content creators who follow us can learn more about content creation while using high-quality gear.
Ernesto: Definitely important. Great to hear that from you. You mentioned a couple of vertical segments, like podcasters. Is there a specific ideal vertical or ICP that you guys focus on?
Elvina: We don’t have anything too specific. We’re quite broad in terms of the types of people we like to help. We mostly refer to content creators in general, as our slogan is “Creators Wanted,” so we cater to anyone in that realm.
Ernesto: Definitely. Great to hear that. So that way, our listeners who are tuned in can go and visit you. They can always check you out at movophoto.com. What role does the website play for you guys?
Elvina: Our website is not only our shop where people can buy products, but we also have various blog posts where people can learn more about content creation, our gear, and our products. It’s basically our home where people can learn more about us, get educated on content creation, and, of course, buy from us. They can also sign up for SMS, affiliate, or other programs. It serves as our main landing page.
Ernesto: Awesome. Great to hear that. Are there any tools, tips, or methods that you would recommend to our listeners as far as website lead generation?
Elvina: I think with websites, the two biggest things are SEO and the overall look of the website. You can generate leads and bring people to the website, but if it doesn’t look good, people will just click off. So having a clean website is the top priority. And of course, SEO is important for visibility.
Ernesto: Definitely important. Great insight. Let’s switch gears a little bit. Let’s talk about your day at Movo. What are some key tasks you focus on day-to-day?
Elvina: I mostly focus on social media. I manage our social media accounts and engage with the community. If anyone comments on a product or post or wants to interact, I’m usually the one engaging with them. I also do outreach to different content creators, sending them our products for reviews. I handle collaborations with content creators, brands, or anyone interested in working with us. Additionally, I help with other tasks that need assistance within the company.
Ernesto: Great! So how do you stay up to date with trends in the marketing world? Is there a preferred channel for you?
Elvina: Some people might find this funny, but I actually like TikTok for that. I know there’s a saying about not believing everything on TikTok, but I think that’s true for most platforms. TikTok brings various news and trends to my attention, and if something interests me, I can research it further. It’s a good way to discover new information.
Ernesto: Definitely. It can be a great way to spark curiosity! Let’s jump into our rapid-fire question round. Are you ready?
Elvina: Sure.
Ernesto: First off, what is the last book you read?
Elvina: The last book I read was Jeanette McCurdy’s I’m Glad My Mom Died.
Ernesto: Interesting read! If there were no boundaries in technology, what’s one thing you’d want to fix for your role as a marketer?
Elvina: Probably communication with other people. It’s one of the biggest challenges—just ensuring that communication is clear and everyone understands each other.
Ernesto: I like that answer. Next up, if there’s one repetitive task you could automate, what would it be?
Elvina: I actually enjoy repetitive tasks; they motivate me. But if I could automate something, it would be rejecting people—it’s something I struggle with, so an automation for that would help.
Ernesto: Alright, interesting! Finally, what’s one piece of advice you’d give yourself if you were to restart your journey as a marketer?
Elvina: I’d tell myself to stay flexible and not take things too harshly. The world and the marketing environment always change, so sometimes things don’t work out, and that’s okay. It’s important to be adaptable.
Ernesto: Great advice! We’re coming to the end of the show, but before we end, I want to give you the last word. If someone forgets everything about the interview, what’s one thing they should remember about Movo?
Elvina: They should remember that we care about content creators and want the best for them. We’re here to support them.
Ernesto Quezada: Awesome. Well, you heard it here! You can always check them out at movophoto.com. Elvina, thank you so much for being with us today, and to our listeners, thank you for joining us. Looking forward to our next episode at Pathmonk Presents. Thanks a lot!
Elvina Roberts: Thank you!
