In every episode, we discuss real strategies—why they worked and also why they didn’t—get insights from real experience and save yourself a whole lot of time and money. Let’s get to it right now.
Before we get started with today’s episode, let’s have a quick look at what Pathmonk is all about.
If you are winning leads, demos, or sales through your website, then Pathmonk might be interesting for you. Pathmonk is an extension to your website. It watches each visitor as they move through your page and builds up their interest in your product or service in real-time to deliver a great uplift in conversions from your website.
Usually, the buying journey can be divided into three stages: awareness, consideration, and decision-making. Pathmonk figures out in which stage a given visitor is by watching every action they do on the website and provides them with micro-experiences such as notifications, case studies, or introduction videos, helping them move to the next stage in the buying journey toward a conversion.
Welcome to today’s episode. Let’s talk about today’s guest.
We have Roger, CEO and founder of Gemstack. How are you doing today, Roger?
Roger Campbell: I’m doing well. Thank you so much for having me on, Ernesto.
Ernesto: It’s great to have you on. Let’s dive in—why are our listeners tuning in? In your own words, Roger, can you tell us a little bit more about what Gemstack is all about?
Roger: Yeah, so Gemstack, we are here to help companies understand what artificial intelligence is and the technology behind it so that it’s more than just ChatGPT and a bunch of prompts. Then, we show them how to start implementing it in meaningful ways to increase profit, productivity, and efficiency within their organizations.
Ernesto: That’s definitely important. To help our listeners get a good understanding of your company, what problems do you solve for clients?
Roger: One is actually developing a roadmap for artificial intelligence implementations in their business that coincide with their goals. We start by looking one year, three years, and five years out, understanding their goals, identifying bottlenecks that stop them from achieving those goals, and educating them on how to implement AI to solve those problems.
Ernesto: Interesting. Is there a certain vertical or segment you focus on?
Roger: Interestingly, no. We’ve worked with quite a few industries. We’re engineers first, so really, anyone leveraging technology but facing bottlenecks or stopgaps is who we’re here to help.
Ernesto: Awesome. How do people usually find out about Gemstack? Is there a top acquisition channel?
Roger: We do a lot of signature talks and podcast interactions. I speak on topics like the effects of AI in business, which funnels traffic to our website and social media efforts.
Ernesto: Great to hear! For our listeners who want to visit you, check them out at gemstack.ai. What role does the website play in client acquisition?
Roger: For us, it’s usually a secondary step. Prospects typically hear from us through a speaking engagement or podcast, then visit the website for more information or to reach out.
Ernesto: Perfect. As far as lead generation goes, do you have any tools or methods to recommend for our listeners?
Roger: I think a clear way to contact you is key. We have a discovery call option on our site, which is important. Websites shouldn’t try to tell the whole story; instead, identify client pain points and provide a quick way to connect.
Ernesto: Definitely. Let’s switch gears, Roger. As the CEO and founder, what are some key tasks you focus on day-to-day?
Roger: I balance working in the business—like teaching workshops or talking with clients—and working on the business, such as refining processes to achieve goals. It’s about managing that balance effectively.
Ernesto: Sounds like you have a lot on your plate! How do you stay updated with all the overwhelming information out there?
Roger: I love TED Talks, podcasts, and influencers like Alex Hormozi. I’m also part of business accelerators that share great book recommendations.
Ernesto: Fantastic. Let’s move to our rapid-fire round. Ready?
Roger: Go for it.
Ernesto: First, what’s the last book you read?
Roger: Built to Sell.
Ernesto: What is one thing your company is focused on the most right now?
Roger: Educating people on AI—what it is, how to use it meaningfully, and how it aligns with their business goals.
Ernesto: If there were no boundaries in technology, what’s one thing you’d fix in your role as a marketer?
Roger: Making outbound marketing more personal and impactful.
Ernesto: If you could automate one repetitive task, what would it be?
Roger: Personalizing outbound outreach while maintaining the human element.
Ernesto: Lastly, what advice would you give your younger self?
Roger: Don’t over-plan. Focus on iterating and improving through action.
Ernesto: Love that advice! Well, Roger, thank you for joining us today. For our listeners, check them out at gemstack.ai. Looking forward to the next episode of Pathmonk Presents.
Roger: Thank you, Ernesto.
